This Week At Ascension
Called to create opportunities for all people to become devoted followers of Christ
October 9-10, 2021
Dear friends in Christ,
We pray that you may once again meet the Risen Christ through the Word and Sacrament ministry.
And through the fellowship of this family of faith. If you do not have a church home, we would like to invite you to worship with our Ascension family again.
All people who are baptized and believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are welcome to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
May God bless you in your worship!

Bittersweet is the word when we think about how great the last five years have been with Addie Behm as Ascension’s Youth Director. This past weekend, her Thank You included a gathering on the patio with cake and lots of appreciation.
GriefShare to Return
Good news! One of Ascension’s most valued ministries, GriefShare, is now returning to weekly meetings at Ascension beginning Thursday, October 14 at 1 PM in the Prayer Chapel.
Led by Brenda Heinrich, GriefShare is a support group for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Those who attend gain access to valuable GriefShare resources to help them recover from loss and look forward to rebuilding their lives.
If you or someone you know might benefit from the caring and understanding of our GriefShare group, please join on Thursday. If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Brenda Heinrich at (805) 279-4235.
Blessing of the Pets
This year’s Blessing of Our Pets brought out many furry family members, and at least one feathered one, too! Thanks to all who made this event so special, and thank you, Pastor Steve, for the photos.
Hot Meals Ministry
Since 1989, Ascension’s Hot Meals Ministry has provided a valuable service to the community, particularly the homeless. We need volunteers! Please contact Tania at (805) 338-7337 for more information and to join in!
